  • Participate in workplace inspections and safety committees

  • Represent employees in health and safety matters

  • Promote a positive safety culture through communication and engagement

While examples may reference common workplace risks such as machinery, ergonomics, electrical hazards, slips and falls, and hazardous substances, the course is designed to be industry-neutral and applicable across manufacturing, construction, warehousing, retail, offices, logistics, and service environments.

This course is suitable for:

  • Newly appointed Safety Representatives

  • Existing Safety Representatives requiring refresher training

  • Supervisors or employees involved in workplace health and safety structures

Upon completion, learners will be better equipped to support compliance, reduce incidents, and contribute meaningfully to safer and healthier workplaces in line with South African legislative requirements.

Through 6 comprehensive modules, learners explore the duties of a SHE Representative within chemical environments, safe handling and storage of chemicals, emergency response requirements, exposure controls, incident investigation, and meaningful participation in Health and Safety Committees. Each lesson integrates legal references, workplace examples, and realistic chemical-handling scenarios to help learners apply the content directly to their own facility or process.

Delivered entirely online and suitable for all skill levels, the course includes module quizzes, interactive content, and a final assessment to ensure competence. Upon successful completion, learners will be able to confidently assist employers in managing chemical risks, reducing exposure incidents, improving safety culture, and maintaining legal compliance.

This course is ideal for SHE Representatives, supervisors, chemical plant operators, warehouse staff, and anyone involved in the safe handling, decanting, transport, or storage of hazardous chemical substances in South Africa.
